Russel Horvey

Russel Horvey has been showing and promoting Galloway Cattle for almost 60 Years!

During those years he has exported Galloway genetics to Germany, Austria, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Mexico, and even back to Scotland.

The first Galloway cattle exhibition that Russel attended was in 1959, the Swift Current Frontier Days. That same year, he purchased his first Galloway sired calf, off a Galloway sired milk cow. He called the calf Nelly Bell. He paid $10 for the calf, money earned tying Allis Chamber small round bales for 1 cent per bale. A year later, 1960 he traded Nelly Bell for his first 4-H calf, Silver Tip. His parents kept the calf and later that year entered him in a carcass competition in Saskatoon, SK.
